BROOKLYN –
The mayor’s office of Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises is starting an ad campaign that features a Brooklyn woman.

Adriene Nicole is the owner of a video production company that produces commercials and promotions for corporations and the government. She has been chosen to be one of the faces in the campaign.

Nicole started her company when she was faced with some health issues.

“I was diagnosed with lupus and had to adjust my life so I started a business, and I think that me choosing health and still being able to maintain career is just incredibly important,” she says.

In 2016, Mayor Bill de Blasio created the MWBE office to address the disparity in city contracts given out to women and minorities.
